Resolution Against Civilian Killings Passes at International Milad Conference

Calicut/Kerala: The International Milad Conference, jointly organized by the Kerala Muslim Jamaat and Jamia Markaz, a leading Islamic university in Calicut, Kerala, passed a significant resolution condemning Israel’s killing of civilians, calling it a flagrant violation of human rights. The resolution was led by Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad (Kanthapuram A.P. Abubakar Musliar), who emphasized that Israel’s atrocities against innocent civilians, not only in Palestine but also across the Lebanese border, are indefensible. He called upon global leaders to unite in the pursuit of peace.

Delivering the annual Prophetic Lessons Talk at the conference, Sheikh Abubakr stressed the importance of interfaith dialogue and the role of world leaders in fostering peace. He further urged countries to reconsider their pro-Israel stance, advocating for a moral approach to achieving global harmony. He emphasized that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stand as a beacon for social justice, women’s safety, and the establishment of a peaceful society.

The conference, organized to mark the birthday celebrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was held under the theme “The Life and Vision of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).” It was inaugurated by the former President of the Supreme Court of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Sami Fadl Al-Dosari. Hon’ble Dr Abdullah Matouq Al Matouq, Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General, attended as the Chief Guest.

A major highlight of the event was the traditional Prophetic Praise (Mawlid) gathering led by the renowned Al Malid singing group from Fujairah, UAE which captivated the audience. The proceedings began with a grand procession of around 100 Daff groups at 4:00 PM. Markaz President Sayyed Ali Bafaqi Thangal led the opening prayer, while Samasta Kerala Jamiatul Ulema President E. Sulaiman Musliar presided over the event.

Delegations from Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Egypt, including Yusuf Abdul Ghafoor Al Abbasi, Nabeel Hamad Isa Muhammad Al-Aun, Sheikh Adnan Abdullah Hussain Al Khatan, and Ali Masood Al Ka’abi, were among the international attendees who added to the prestige of the conference.

The resolution passed at the conference calls for an urgent international response to stop the ongoing violence against civilians and strengthen global peace initiatives.
