In a shocking incident that has left a village in Gujarat’s Devbhoomi Dwarka district reeling, a 30-year-old farmer was brutally murdered by his cousin over suspicions of an affair with the latter’s wife. The crime occurred in Khijadad village, Kalyanpur Taluka, on Wednesday, when Chandrasinh Jadeja attacked his cousin Veermade Singh Jadeja with a blunt object, killing him on the spot.
The motive behind the killing was revealed to be an alleged affair between Veermade and Chandrasinh’s wife. Upon learning about the relationship, Chandrasinh reportedly called Veermade to his farmland under the guise of a meeting. There, he fatally struck Veermade on the head with a heavy object, leaving him lifeless. Veermade, a farmer by profession, was known to spend time with his cousin regularly, according to relatives.
Following the incident, Veermade’s elder brother, Sanjay Singh Jadeja, filed a formal complaint at Kalyanpur Police Station. Sanjay revealed in his statement that he had previously advised Veermade against continuing the alleged affair after it came to light. He also mentioned that the cousins often spent time together despite underlying tensions.
The murder came to light on Wednesday evening when Sanjay received a call from a relative, Ajitsinh, urging him to visit Chandrasinh’s farmland. Upon arrival, Sanjay found Veermade’s bloodied body wrapped in a carpet. Witnesses at the scene, including a labourer named Lakhanbhai, claimed to have no knowledge of the incident. Chandrasinh, meanwhile, was missing, and his phone was switched off.
Police have launched an investigation and are searching for Chandrasinh, who remains at large.
