Minister MB Rajesh’s claim that liquor policy was changed for Oasis Company is a blatant lie: V D Satheesan

Kochi: The opposition has once again intensified its allegations of corruption in the Palakkad Elappully Brewery project. Opposition leader VD Satheesan alleged that the liquor policy was changed for the sake of the Oasis company and that Minister MB Rajesh’s claim is a blatant lie. The house of cards that the minister had raised to build a liquor factory in Elappully, Palakkad, collapsed. Only a private company knew about the change in the liquor policy.

Oasis Company has clarified that it is starting a liquor factory at the invitation of the state government. VD Satheesan said that this has been clarified in the application submitted to the Water Authority. The deal was made with the company before the liquor policy changed. The government changed the liquor policy for this company. The company did not get IOC permission before the government invited the company.

The company wrote to the Water Authority requesting water for the project in 2023. The letter stated that the company was starting at the invitation of the government. The government invited the company to Kerala before receiving the approval of the central government.

The company submitted a letter to the Water Authority on June 16, 2023. The Water Authority replied on the same day. The company also applied to the IOC to start a liquor factory in Kerala in 2023. A deal was reached between the company and the Excise Minister. VD Satheesan also alleged that K Kavitha held discussions with MB Rajesh.
