Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Gene Hackman and his wife found dead; pet dog’s body also found inside house

New York: Famous Hollywood actor and Oscar winner Gene Hackman (95) and his wife Betsy Arakawa (63) have been found dead. They were both found dead in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. Their pet dog was also found dead inside the house.

Police said the bodies of the actor and his wife were found inside the house on Wednesday evening. An investigation has been launched into the incident and no other suspicious circumstances are suspected at this time.

The actor, who has immortalized more than 100 characters, has won an Oscar twice. Born in California in 1930, he joined the army at the age of 16. After four and a half years of military service, he decided to study acting while living in New York. He then joined the Pasadena Playhouse in California and studied acting.

His first film was ‘Mad Dog Call’, released in 1961. He has acted in many films, TV series and plays. He played the role of ‘Lex Luthor’ in the Superman films during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1971, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in the film ‘The French Connection’.

Gene Hackman also won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1992. In addition to this, Gene Hackman has won many other awards, including four Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award. His last film was ‘Welcome to Mooseport’, which was released in 2004.
