ISKCON’s defamation notice of Rs 100 crore to Maneka

Kolkata, ISKCON on Friday said it has sent a defamation notice of Rs 100 crore to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Maneka Gandhi for raising questions on the religious organization over the maintenance of cows in its cow sheds.

An undated video of former Union Minister Gandhi has surfaced on social media, in which he can be heard making allegations against the ‘International Society for Krishna Consciousness’ (ISKCON). “Today, we have sent a defamation notice of Rs 100 crore to Maneka Gandhi for making completely baseless allegations against ISKCON,” ISKCON vice-president Radharaman Das said in a statement. Terming it as a ‘malicious allegation’, he said that the worldwide community of devotees, supporters and well-wishers of ISKCON is deeply distressed by these allegations.
