PAK vs AFG: Afghanistan created history in Chennai, Pakistan tasted defeat for the first time in ODI cricket

 Afghanistan has caused another major upset in the ICC World Cup 2023. Afghanistan’s fighters have created history at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Afghanistan played brilliantly and made Pakistan taste defeat by 8 wickets. Afghan batsmen cheerfully achieved the target of 283 runs given by Pakistan by losing just two wickets. Afghanistan has defeated Pakistan for the first time in ODI cricket.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave a strong start to the Afghanistan team chasing the target of 283 runs set by Pakistan. Both of them batted aggressively and made a partnership of 130 runs for the first wicket. Gurbaz played a quick inning of 65 runs in 53 balls, while Ibrahim played a brilliant inning of 87 runs.

After Gurbaz returned to the pavilion, Ibrahim made a 60-run partnership with Rahmat Shah for the second wicket. However, Zadran could not complete his century and became the victim of Hasan Ali after scoring 87 runs. After this, Rahmat Shah and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi did not allow the team to suffer any further setback. Both of them made an unbroken partnership of 96 runs for the third wicket and gave a historic victory to Afghanistan.

Pakistan, who came to bat first after winning the toss, did not have a good start and Imam-ul-Haq was out after scoring just 17 runs. However, after this, captain Babar Azam along with Abdul Shafiq made a half-century partnership for the second wicket. Shafiq was out after scoring 58 runs. At the same time, Babar batted brilliantly and played a brilliant inning of 74 runs.

In the last overs, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed made their mark with the bat, due to which Pakistan team was successful in scoring 282 runs on the score board after losing 7 wickets. Iftikhar scored 40 runs in 27 balls, while Shadab also contributed 40 runs. With this defeat, Pakistan’s path has become very difficult in the World Cup 2023.
