Gang recruiting Nepali citizens into Russian Army busted

Kathmandu: A gang allegedly involved in illegally sending Nepalese citizens to Russia for recruitment in the Russian Army was busted and all its 12 members were arrested. Kathmandu District Police said the gang used to charge Rs 7 to 11 lakh from each person for arranging ‘visit’ visa and other documents for recruitment in the Russian Army. Nepal Police has taken precautionary measures against possible incidents of human trafficking after six Nepalese civilians were killed in the Russia-Ukraine war, sources said. Sources said that the Nepal government has also requested Russia not to recruit Nepalese citizens in its army.
