New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that by getting legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP), the farmers of the country will not be a burden on the budget but will become the catalyst for the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). He said that it is a lie that it is not possible to give legal guarantee of MSP in view of the budget.
Recently, Congress promised that if India Alliance comes to power at the Center in 2024, then farmers will be given legal guarantee of MSP. Rahul Gandhi posted, ever since Congress has pledged to give legal guarantee to MSP, Modi’s propaganda machinery and friendly media have spread a barrage of lies on MSP. According to him, it is being lied that it is not possible in the budget of the Government of India to provide legal guarantee of MSP. He said, the truth is that according to CRISIL, giving MSP to farmers in 2022-23 would have resulted in an additional burden of Rs 21,000 crore on the government, which is only 0.4 percent of the total budget.
He asked, in a country where bank loans worth Rs 14 lakh crore have been waived off and corporate tax exemption worth Rs 1.8 lakh crore has been given, why is even a little expenditure on farmers an eyesore? Rahul Gandhi said that the guarantee of MSP will increase investment in agriculture, demand will increase in rural India and farmers will also get confidence in growing different types of crops, which is the guarantee of the country’s prosperity. He said, those who are spreading confusion on MSP.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that Congress is fighting against the injustice being done to the people and the party needs support from the people in the form of donations in this fight. Shri Gandhi said that Congress fights for the interests of the people on the donations of the people. The strength of Congress is not in electrical bonds like BJP but in the bonds of donations received from the public, hence it is urging people to donate to the party.
