Geneva: India has contributed US$1 million to a fund set up to combat poverty and hunger. This fund has been established by India, Brazil and South Africa.
Indian Ambassador to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj handed over a check of US$ 1 million to Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, as a contribution to the Fund for Eradication of Poverty and Hunger (IBSA Fund). On this occasion, Kamboj said that the G20 summit chaired by India was focused on “development of the people, by the people and for the people. That is why India is committed to supporting the IBSA Fund,” she said. We believe that this has ‘positively impacted the lives of millions of people in the Global South and strengthened the spirit of cooperation.’
