Mumbai: Many leaders of Maharashtra BJP have left for Delhi to attend a review meeting. After this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also held a meeting with both the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. However, it is not clear which issues were discussed in this meeting. According to sources, this meeting was focused on the poor performance of the Mahayuti alliance parties in the Lok Sabha elections.
CM’s meeting with Fadnavis lasted till late
According to BJP sources, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at his official residence Varsha. After Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar left the meeting, the conversation between Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis continued for some time.
Devendra Fadnavis had offered to resign
The BJP top leadership has called the state level leaders of the party for a review meeting on the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections. According to the information, the BJP often holds such meetings with state level party leaders. Assembly elections will be held in October this year
During this, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that he wants to work full time for the party till the state assembly elections. This will also be discussed in the Delhi meeting. After this, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been appointed in-charge of Maharashtra BJP unit and Ashwini Vaishnav has been appointed its co-in-charge. Mahayuti’s poor performance in Lok Sabha
Talking about the results of Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti parties BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP were able to win only 17 seats out of 48. In this, BJP won nine, Shiv Sena seven and NCP only one seat. On the other hand, the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi which includes Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP won 30 out of 48 seats.
