NEET Paper Leak: Education Department formed a high level committee, will have to submit the report in two months

Amid allegations of malpractices and irregularities in the NEET (UG) exam 2024, the Central Government on Saturday constituted a committee headed by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman K. Radhakrishnan to bring transparency in the exams conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The committee will submit its report in two months
Apart from him, other members of the committee include former AIIMS Delhi Director Dr. Randeep Guleria, Hyderabad Central University Vice Chancellor Prof. BJ Rao, IIT Madras Professor Emeritus Ramamurthy K., People Strong co-founder Pankaj Bansal and IIT Delhi Dean (Student Affairs) Prof. Aditya Mittal. Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary of the Union Education Ministry has been made the member secretary. The committee will submit its report within two months.

A committee has been formed to make things transparent
The Union Education Ministry said that the objective of the committee is to give suggestions for conducting examinations conducted by NTA in a transparent and malpractice-free manner. For this, it will analyze the examination process from start to finish and make suggestions for improving the mechanism so that any possible leakage can be avoided. It will also review the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of NTA and make suggestions to strengthen the SOPs and monitoring process.

Committee will examine security protocols
To strengthen the data security protocol, the committee will assess the existing data security processes and protocols of NTA and make suggestions for improvement in them. It will also examine and make suggestions on the security protocols related to question paper preparation and other examination processes. The committee will also make suggestions on changes in the organizational structure of NTA so that the suggested improvements in data security and examination processes can be implemented.
