CRED cancels Rs 3.25 lakh jackpot due to ‘technical glitch,’; Delhi man outraged

A Delhi man, Aviral Sangal, has expressed frustration after Fintech company CRED cancelled his jackpot win worth Rs 3.25 lakh, citing a “bug” in their system. Sangal had participated in CRED’s Friday jackpot and was elated to win a MacBook, iPad, AirPods Max, and a TUMI bag. However, his excitement quickly faded when CRED informed him that his win had been invalidated due to a technical issue.

Sangal took to social media to share his dismay, tagging CRED founder Kunal Shah in a post on X. “Even though I usually don’t fall for @CRED_club jackpots, yesterday I played the Friday jackpot with no expectation. But I scored the JACKPOT, and it wasn’t a small one,” he wrote, expressing his initial excitement.

He filled out the required forms, including his PAN details for TDS processing, when CRED contacted him shortly after. The CRED team explained that the jackpot had been cancelled due to a system glitch, offering to return the coins he used to play, along with Rs 1,000 as a goodwill gesture.

Sangal, dissatisfied with the response, updated his post saying that CRED had “shamelessly” called again with the same compensation offer, which he declined. He demanded that the company publicly acknowledge the error and award the prizes to all affected users.
